However, ongoing discussions within the NFF regarding the potential appointment of a foreign coach have thrown a wrench into Eguavoen’s plans for the future. As the World Cup approaches, his fate remains uncertain.

In a recent interview, Eguavoen acknowledged the uncertainty, saying, “I’m taking it one match at a time. If I do remain in charge, my focus will be on winning every game, as every match will be like a final.” The prospect of a foreign coach leading the team has left Eguavoen’s role uncertain.

The Africa Cup of Nations qualification is heating up, and fans can look forward to a thrilling series of fixtures across various groups. With Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Nigeria having secured their spots, attention now turns to the crucial upcoming matches.
