Ex-Presidential Candidate Commends Aiyedatiwa’s Victory

‘Four Years Sold Freely And Openly’ – Ex Presidential Candidate Reacts To Aiyedatiwa’s Victory

SDP Presidential Candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, Laments Ondo State Election Outcome

Naijawebinfo reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election, held on Sunday.

In a post on social media, Adebayo described the election as an “auction” where “willing buyers” and “willing sellers” dominated the scene, with four years being sold freely and openly for the highest bidder. He lamented that the election was more about transactional politics than genuine democracy.

Adebayo pointed out that the election lacked the decency expected in a democratic process. He used the analogy of a marketplace to describe the election, saying it was a “perfect market” where “willing buyers” met “willing sellers”. He even went as far as comparing the Ondo State election to the foreign exchange market, suggesting that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) could learn from its efficiency.

In his post, Adebayo wrote: “The Ondo State Governorship Election is what criminologists would term as victim-less crimes: a spectacle of willing buyers and willing sellers in a perfect market. Four years sold so freely and openly that no one should lie that they were coerced or intimidated. And the security agencies, INEC, and media houses all witnessed it live.”

He concluded his post by congratulating the “buyers” on their “purchased victory” and shedding tears for the “sellers” with the Calvary elegy: “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”. He ended by praying for Nigeria and Ondo State.
