Osimhen Rules Out January Move To Chelsea, Commits To Galatasaray Until Season End

Galatasaray’s Technical Director Confirms Victor Osimhen’s Loan Agreement Details

In a recent interview, Okan Buruk, Galatasaray’s technical director, shed light on the intricacies of Victor Osimhen’s loan agreement from Napoli. According to Buruk, the January clause in Osimhen’s contract allows the player to explore transfer opportunities with other clubs during the winter transfer window.

The clarification came during an exclusive interview on Galatasaray’s official website, where Buruk discussed various topics related to the team.

During the conversation, Buruk revealed that Osimhen is eager to remain with Galatasaray until the end of the season.

Noting that the transfer clause is in place, Buruk emphasized that Osimhen has consistently expressed his desire to stay with the club, mirroring his sentiments since joining Galatasaray. “Osimhen wants to stay here until the season ends, and he has been clear about that from the start,” Buruk stated. “Ultimately, it’s the player’s decision, and he feels committed to staying with us.”

Buruk also shared the story of how Galatasaray secured Osimhen’s services. He recalled traveling to Milan, where he rekindled old friendships and developed a rapport with Osimhen over dinner. “We didn’t discuss football; instead, we enjoyed each other’s company over two days,” Buruk said. “After a match against Adana Demirspor, we had a video call at the airport to discuss the possibilities, and after careful consideration with our transfer committee and the president, we completed the transfer.”

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on the final day of the summer transfer window, after negotiations with Chelsea and Al Ahly fell through. Since his arrival, he has quickly adapted to his new environment, contributing significantly with eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions.
