Galatasaray’s Coach Quashes Speculation, Vows to Keep Osimhen till End of the Season

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has laid to rest any rumors about Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen leaving the Turkish side before the current season ends. Osimhen is currently on loan from Napoli and has become a vital player for the Super Lig champions since joining earlier this season.

Rumors had been circulating about a potential move to Manchester United, which gained momentum thanks to a clause in Osimhen’s contract permitting him to join another club during the January transfer window.

Buruk has however emphasized that the 25-year-old Nigerian forward is committed to seeing out the remainder of the season with Galatasaray. Speaking to NTV, he stated, “Osimhen intends to stay here until the end of the season,” adding that the player had consistently expressed his desire to remain with the club.

The coach emphasized that it is ultimately the player who decides where they want to be, and Osimhen has conveyed his intention to stay at Galatasaray to him. According to Buruk, the player reiterated his commitment when he joined the team.

Scores have been one of Osimhen’s greatest strengths, with the striker having scored eight goals and provided four assists in just nine matches across all competitions since joining Galatasaray.
