This week’s Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) took center stage on Saturday as Akwa United faced off against Nasarawa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The home side emerged victorious with a nail-biting 1-0 win.
The remaining nine NPFL matches took place the following day, with all five wins and four draws occurring on the road with no away team securing victory.

El-Kanemi Warriors secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, while Bayelsa United and Katsina United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw.
Ikorodu City also secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Shooting Stars, while Enugu Rangers edged out Bendel Insurance 3-2.
Further matches saw Sunshine Stars claim a 1-0 win over Lobi Stars, Abia Warriors and Enyimba play out a 1-1 draw, as well as 0-0 stalemates between Remo Stars and Rivers United, and Kwara United and Plateau United 2-0 victories against their respective opponents.
Kano Pillars and Heartland tied 2-2.

Following Matchday 12, Remo Stars maintain their top position with 23 points earned from 12 matches.
Rivers United trail closely behind on 22 points, ahead of Enyimba’s 20 points with Enugu Rangers and El-Kanemi Warriors securing 19 points each and occupying the fourth and fifth positions respectively.
At the wrong end of the table, Bendel Insurance occupy bottom spot with 9 points, while Lobi Stars, Nasarawa United, Plateau United, and Akwa United cluster together in the relegation zone with 12 points each.
