Ondo State Elects Aiyedatiwa as Governor in 2024 Gubernatorial Poll

**Ondo State Electorates Decide on New Governor**

The people of Ondo State have spoken, and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged as the winner of the governorship election. The election, which took place yesterday, saw Aiyedatiwa defeating his closest rival, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the results announced, Aiyedatiwa polled 366,781 votes, while Ajayi secured 117,845 votes. The results from the 18 local government areas in the state show a wide margin between the two candidates.

* Akoko South West LGA: APC – 29,700, PDP – 5,517
* Owo LGA: APC – 31,914, PDP – 4,740
* Ose LGA: APC – 16,555, PDP – 4,472
* Akure South LGA: APC – 32,969, PDP – 17,926
* Akoko North East LGA: APC – 25,657, PDP – 5,072
* Ondo West LGA: APC – 20,755, PDP – 6,387
* Akoko South East LGA: APC – 12,140, PDP – 2,692
* Akoko North West LGA: APC – 25,010, PDP – 5,502

In a statement, the agent of the PDP for Idanre Local Government alleged that there was no election in Ofosun Oniseri Ward as the PDP agents were chased away. He also claimed that there was a case of ballot snatching at Alade and demanded that votes from the ward be expunged.

Meanwhile, the agent of the ZLP, Abbas Mimiko, has emerged victorious in his polling unit, Ward 7, PU20, Mona Clinic, Agbogbo Oke, Ondo West.
