PDP Sweeps Zamfara Local Government Elections, Wins All Chairmanship And Councillorship Seats

Zamfara State Locals Give Clear Mandate to PDP in Electing New Local Government Leaders

Following last weekend’s elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged victorious across all 14 chairmanship positions and won every councillorship seat in Zamfara State, a development that solidified its control in the state.

In a morning press conference in Gusau, Bala Aliyu, Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), declared the poll results, noting that every local government area, including Gusau, Kaura-Namoda, Maru, Talata Mafara, and Anka, gave the thumbs-up to the PDP.

Election officials and security personnel worked hand in hand, ensuring the conduct of free, fair, and transparent polls. These efforts didn’t go unnoticed, earning praise from various stakeholders for their contributions.

For Wadatau Madawaki, the PDP representative present at the collation center, the impressive outcome validated the party’s leadership and commitment to promoting the prosperity of Zamfara State.

A call went out to newly elected chairmen to closely collaborate with Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration to bring much-needed change and development to the region.

Anecdotal accounts from observers highlighted a relatively peaceful poll day, largely attributed to the improved security measures taken to facilitate smooth and unbiased voting.

The outcome reinforced the PDP’s long-standing political dominance in the state and underscored public confidence in Governor Lawal’s direction and development blueprint.
