Abia PDP Criticizes Gov Otti for Misusing Insecurity for Political Gain

Gov Otti Calls Out Opposition’s Alleged Abuja Meetings Aimed At Undermining His Administration

PDP Accuses Governor Otti’s Administration of Politicizing Insecurity in Abia State

Naijawebinfo reports that two Nigerian Army personnel were tragically killed at a checkpoint in Umuahia by unknown assailants.

In response to the killing, the Abia State government claimed that certain politicians are orchestrating attacks by gunmen to destabilize Governor Otti’s regime, allegedly starting in May 2024.

The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Eric Ikwuagwu, has accused the Labour Party government of failing to ensure the safety of Abia residents.

In a statement issued on Monday, Ikwuagwu urged the Abia State government to work closely with security agencies and provide tangible evidence to aid the apprehension and prosecution of those responsible for the senseless killing of innocent citizens. Instead of sowing discord, the government should work to build trust.

Playing politics with the lives of Abians is not only counterproductive but also perilous. It’s crucial to tackle insecurity with comprehensive strategies beyond mere declarations.

Ikwuagwu emphasized that the opposition’s duty is to provide constructive criticism and present alternative perspectives without fear of intimidation, as prescribed by the constitution.
