Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Council in Rivers State, Ihunwo Chijioke, Forecasts Tough Road Ahead for Governor Fubara’s Re-Election Bid

In a recent address to the Akpor Unity Forum, a socio-political group in Obio/Akpor, Ihunwo painted a vivid picture of the challenges Governor Siminalayi Fubara will face in his quest for re-election in 2027. He framed the election as a decisive battle not only for Fubara’s political future but also for the very essence and resources of the state.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and loyalty among Fubara’s supporters, Ihunwo acknowledged that some individuals may abandon the governor for personal reasons. However, he urged the group to remain steadfast and committed to their leader, citing Fubara’s unwavering dedication to the people of Rivers State.

“I’m aware that some of our allies may defect before the next general elections in 2027, possibly driven by personal and selfish motivations. But I implore you all to remain loyal to our leader, as his primary focus is the betterment of Rivers State and its people. I beseech you to disseminate the governor’s message throughout the Akpor kingdom,” Ihunwo said.

Ihunwo, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ofonime Okon, also pledged to engage members of the group in the council’s administration. He offered potential appointments as aides or committee members to foster development in the local council.

“Rest assured that we will involve you in our decision-making process in the council. This could take the form of appointments as aides or committee members, all aimed at driving growth and development in our local council,” Ihunwo assured.
