Ndume Asks Senate to Replace Him with His Wife Ubah

Allow Ubah’s Wife Replace Him – Ndume Begs Senate

Ali Ndume Seeks Senate’s Approval for Late Senator Ubah’s Widow to Take His Seat

In a move aimed at preserving the legacy of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has requested the Senate to allow Ubah’s widow to take his place as the representative of Anambra South Senatorial District.

During the Valedictory session held in honor of the late senator, Ndume argued that this would be a fitting tribute to Ubah’s contributions to the Senate and ensure continuity in representing his constituency.

Citing historical precedents, Ndume pointed out that this move would honor Ubah’s spirit and aspirations. He referenced the examples of Margery Okadigbo, who joined the Senate after the passing of her husband, Chuba Okadigbo, and Oluremi Tinubu, who served in the Senate as a result of her husband’s legacy.

Ndume also mentioned other instances where children or spouses of senators took up their seats, such as Senator Tokunbo Abiru, whose father served as a senator in 1979, and Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, who carries on the political legacy of his family.

According to Ndume, Senator Ubah’s widow, who is around 50 years old, has been a supportive partner throughout her husband’s career. Ndume appealed to the President and his colleagues to support the idea of having a family representative in the chamber, ensuring continuity and honoring the Anambra South Senatorial District.
