APC Spokesman Daniel Bwala Clarifies Absence from Party
As criticism swirls around his sudden appointment as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Daniel Bwala has set the record straight on his tenure within the All Progressives Congress (APC). He revealed that he was absent from the party for just seven months.
Bwala refuted claims that he’s a newcomer to the ruling party, citing his eight-year history of supporting and defending the APC as an active member.
In a live television interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Bwala addressed allegations against him, stating that some of the attacks are being sponsored.
He emphasized, “I’m not a stranger to the APC. My credentials are well-documented, and I have been consistently defending the party in the past. It’s unfortunate that some people have forgotten this.”
Bwala Won’t Work with Bayo Onanuga
Separately, Bwala has ruled out any possibility of working alongside Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Despite Onanuga being an elder statesman and a renowned journalist with an impressive track record, Bwala expressed respect for his seniority.
Bwala praised Onanuga’s achievements, stating, “He’s a very brilliant journalist who has had a proven record. I’d be happy to see him lead the presidential media team.” However, he drew a clear line, affirming that he would never work alongside Onanuga or compromise his values to gain favor.
