PDP Chieftain Debunks Rumors of Mike Adenuga’s Death

Mike Adenuga, the billionaire founder of Globacom, has been declared alive and well by Dele Momodu, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Rumors of the 71-year-old businessman’s passing had been circulating online earlier this week.

Adenuga, who ranks as the fifth richest person in Africa according to Forbes, is the founder of Globacom, Nigeria’s second-largest telecom operator with a presence in Ghana and the Benin Republic. Despite his significant contributions to Nigeria’s economy, Adenuga has maintained a low public profile in recent years.

Momodu took to Twitter to dispel the false reports, revealing that he had spoken with Adenuga personally. The businessman assured him that he is still actively involved in the Nigerian economy and thanked everyone for their concern.

Momodu’s tweet read: “Ignore the fake news… The Spirit of Africa, DR MICHAEL ADENIYI AGBOLADE ISOLA ADENUGA, is hale and hearty. He’s right now at his desk working round the clock in support of the Nigerian economy… He just called me to thank everyone for their concern…”

Adenuga’s rags-to-riches story is well-known. He reportedly made his first million at the age of 26 in 1979, selling lace and distributing soft drinks.
