APC National Chairman Dismisses Claims of External Influence on Ondo Governorship Election
During a visit from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat on Wednesday, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, denied allegations that President Bola Tinubu’s support played a role in Aiyedatiwa’s governorship election victory.
Ganduje emphasized that the people of Ondo State overwhelmingly backed Aiyedatiwa, pointing out that the APC won in 202 out of 203 wards in the state. He attributed the victory to Aiyedatiwa’s impressive performance in office and the party’s effective grassroots mobilization efforts.
Ganduje encouraged Aiyedatiwa to continue his development projects and strengthen the party’s presence in the state.
Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their support and to the APC leadership for their confidence in his administration. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and promoting party unity.
Ganduje stressed, “The election was a true reflection of the will of the people, free from external influence. No single individual or group from outside the state played a significant role in the election. The people of Ondo State came together to elect their leader, and we congratulate Governor Aiyedatiwa on this landslide victory.”
