Bode George warns Atiku: Focus on your 81st birthday in 2027, not 1993 controversies

‘It’s Time To Calm Down, You Will Be 81 In 2027, You’ve Been Contesting Since 1993’ – Bode George Fires Atiku

PDP BoT Member, Bode George, Urges Atiku to Step Down from 2027 Presidential Bid

In a press conference held on his 79th birthday, Bode George, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), delivered a candid message to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar: it’s time to hang up his presidential ambitions.

According to George, Atiku, who will be 81 years old in 2027, has been chasing the presidency since 1993 and should now let younger leaders take the reins. The former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP urged Atiku to put the interests of the party above his personal ambitions and let others take the lead.

“As you approach your 81st birthday, it’s time to take a step back and let the next generation of leaders take charge,” George said. “I implore you to put the party’s interests above your own and focus on building a stronger future for the PDP.”.

This isn’t the first time George has spoken out on the state of the party. Earlier, he expressed concerns about the PDP’s challenges, attributing them to selfish interests within the party. He called for urgent action to be taken to rescue the party ahead of its upcoming National Convention.

George believes that some party members are working against the party’s best interests, and that the founding fathers of the PDP would be disappointed if they were alive to see the state of the party. He urged party members to put aside their differences and work together to build a stronger, more united party.

In a scathing critique of some party members, George described their actions as disheartening and pitiful, saying that they were already working with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
