A chaotic scene unfolded in the Adeta area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital, on Monday when students from Government High School and Government Day Secondary School clashed, leaving multiple students injured.

The altercation, which began around 11 a.m., was reportedly a culmination of a long-standing dispute between the two schools. Eyewitnesses claimed that the fight was intense, with more than 10 students sustaining injuries in the melee.

A witness shared, “The situation has been building for weeks, and it seems like a reprisal attack. We’re still trying to understand what triggered it, but the aftermath was devastating.” Some speculated that the fight was linked to cultism and a battle for supremacy between the students.
