Troubling Discovery at Creestar Hotel in Ogun State

A shocking incident occurred at Creestar Hotel, located in the heart of GRA, Sagamu, Ogun State, on Wednesday, leaving a 51-year-old American returnee, Sunday Abidoye, dead in his hotel room.

The Ogun State Police Command received a report from the hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Oluwole, who had discovered the lifeless body of a customer. Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives from the police visited the scene and found the corpse being prepared to be taken to the morgue by the deceased’s family.

The family, led by the deceased’s brother, Jimoh Godday, who resides in Imota, Lagos State, informed the police that Sunday had arrived in Nigeria from the United States on Saturday, November 16, 2024. After knocking on his brother’s hotel room door, Room 109, and receiving no response, Godday requested a spare key from the manager to enter the room, where they tragically discovered Sunday’s lifeless body.

The police investigation uncovered various drugs and traditional medicines in the room, along with photos taken at the scene. A friend of the deceased, Ogunmonti Ogunwole, corroborated the story, stating that he had accompanied Sunday to purchase nine different types of medication the previous day due to his brother’s complaints of illness.

The authorities have since taken the body to OOUTH Morgue in Sagamu for an autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet and thorough investigation. At present, no known cause of death has been determined.
