APC Chieftain Threatens to Betray Bola Tinubu Over Daniel Bwala’s Appointment
Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has openly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Daniel Bwala, a former campaign director to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication.
Onokpasa stated in an interview on Arise TV that while some of Tinubu’s supporters believe Bwala’s appointment is a strategic move, he thinks it’s a reckless decision that will ultimately lead to the president’s defeat in the 2027 presidential election.
Onokpasa went further to explain that Bwala’s appointment is reminiscent of the negative campaign tactics employed during the 2023 election, where Bwala helped Atiku Abubakar to lose. He emphasized that just as Bwala’s actions contributed to Atiku’s defeat, he will do the same for Tinubu in 2027 if the appointment is not rescinded.
In his defense of the president’s right to appoint whomever he pleases, Onokpasa emphasized that as citizens, they have the right to vote in a new president if they feel Tinubu has failed to meet their expectations.
