Queen Mercy Atang, a former Big Brother Naija Housemate, is opening up about the harsh realities of being a celebrity on social media.
According to Naija News, Queen Mercy took to her Instagram page to share her frustrations, revealing that she’s regularly bombarded with hurtful comments.
In a post, she shared a screenshot of a particularly vicious comment that raised her eyebrows.
However, what caught her attention was that the same individual had the audacity to question her husband’s whereabouts, making her wonder what their intent was.
In response to the commentator, Queen Mercy expressed surprise, stating that she could not recall throwing shade at anyone online, despite it being a common occurrence on social media platforms.
She disclosed that she tends to disregard most of these negative comments, choosing not to waste her time or energy in responding or defending herself against the barrage of insults and criticisms.
In her heartfelt post, Queen Mercy penned, “This internet is a wicked place. I’ve seen so many unflattering things written about me online. Honestly, I sometimes wonder if the person is me or someone else having a laugh at my expense. My biggest prayer when I started my journey as a celebrity was to become famous and rich. Mission accomplished, but with a twist – I never knew the price I’d pay for fame, and right now, it’s really taking a toll on my mental health.”
