Davido Sounds a Warning as Black Americans Eye Africa Reopening
Grammy award-winning superstar, Davido, isn’t buying the hype about African countries being the latest hotspot for black Americans to return to their roots.
In an exclusive interview on ‘The Big Homies House’ podcast, Davido responded with a dose of hard-hitting reality to show hosts questioning the influx of US citizens looking to relocate back to Africa.
When asked why someone would want to return to the motherland, Davido candidly wondered, “Where are you supposed to go?” Stressing the myriad challenges Africans face daily, from systemic issues to economic struggles, the singer expressed skepticism.
Recalling his own experience having spent part of his life in Nigeria, Davido poignantly shared that even he had a “hard time” adjusting upon his return from Atlanta.
“Back home, it’s tough, the economy is doing terribly,” he lamented, echoing concerns shared by many Nigerians.
