NFF President Ibrahim Gusau Gets New Role In WAFU B

In a significant development, the WAFU B Zone has elected a new leadership team, with Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, taking the reins as President. Oumarou Sawadogo, President of the Burkinabe Football Federation, has been appointed as the 2nd Vice President.

This new leadership team will oversee the WAFU B Zone, which comprises seven member countries: Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire. As the regional body responsible for promoting and developing football in West Africa, WAFU B plays a vital role in fostering collaboration and driving initiatives that benefit the region.

Ibrahim Gusau, who has recently taken the helm of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), brings a wealth of experience to his new role. With a background in African football governance, he has held key positions, including a spot on the Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN). His expertise also extends to security, where he has worked closely with FIFA and CAF. As WAFU B President, Gusau is expected to enhance Nigeria’s influence in regional football and promote cooperation among member nations to drive the growth of the sport.
