Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, a stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC), is urging the leadership of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) to shift its focus from blaming others and instead tackle the pressing challenges facing the nation.
Kwankwaso is advocating for the Forum to take a closer look at the problems plaguing the north and work together to find solutions, rather than pointing fingers at the Federal Government or President Tinubu.
The former senator emphasized that the north has a history of unity, citing the words of Attahiru Bafarawa, former governor of Sokoto State, who highlighted the importance of coming together to address the numerous challenges facing the region.
Kwankwaso believes that the current problems in the north are not a recent phenomenon, but rather inherited from previous administrations. He pointed out that banditry remains the region’s biggest headache, and resolving this issue would allow farmers to return to their lands and resume agricultural activities.
The northern leader stressed that it’s essential for the region to come together and address the impediments hindering progress, rather than dwelling on past grievances.
Kwankwaso also reminded his audience that the north has produced nine heads of state, while the south has produced only three. He asked, “Why did previous administrations fail to solve these threats to the country, and especially the north?”
