Ugochinyere accused of being a political “Yahoo boy”

Wike’s Aide Labels Rep Ugochinyere A ‘Political Hushpuppi’ Over PDP Criticism

Scathing Response from FCT SSA: Lere Olayinka Labels Rep, Imo Ugochinyere, a ‘Political Hushpuppi’

Following Imo Ugochinyere’s appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired back, dubbing the lawmaker a ‘political hushpuppi’.

Olayinka’s comments came in response to Ugochinyere’s allegations that Governor Wike and other G5 Governors are plotting to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to Olayinka, Ugochinyere’s comments are a perfect example of the “aberrations” within the party that need to be addressed.

In a strongly worded statement, Olayinka urged Ugochinyere to focus on his responsibilities in the National Assembly, highlighting that his constituents have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with his performance. Olayinka questioned Ugochinyere’s loyalty to the party, given his late arrival in 2022 and his continued ties to the Action Peoples Party (APP).

Olayinka asserted, “If PDP had functioned properly, someone who only joined the party yesterday wouldn’t be dictating what loyalty means.” He accused Ugochinyere of using APP to cash in on his perceived influence in Rivers State. The FCT SSA described Ugochinyere as a “hushpuppi” and stated that he should stop attempting to lecture others about loyalty.

Olayinka also lampooned Ugochinyere for creating unnecessary organizations to further his political agenda. He questioned Ugochinyere’s authenticity as a spokesperson, claiming that he has never held a legitimate position. According to Olayinka, Ugochinyere’s actions are tantamount to impersonation, a serious offense that warrants prosecution.
