Obaseki Blasts Okpebholo: “You Lacking Vision, No Credible Plan to Probe My Govt”

Stop Being Petty, Leave Obaseki Alone – Edo Govt Fires Okpebholo

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki Slams Decision to Probe His Administration, Calls it a Diversionary Tactic

Last week, Governor Monday Okpebholo announced a 14-member State Assets Verification Committee to investigate Obaseki’s administration, but the former governor has come out swinging, describing the move as a desperate attempt to distract from his glaring inadequacies.

Obaseki’s Media Aide, Crusoe Osagie, accused Okpebholo of lacking a clear vision for governance and relying on “empty probes” to divert attention from his inexperience and poor leadership.

“The Edo people have been treated to a long list of probes by the Okpebholo administration,” said Osagie. “From civil servants’ employment to ministries, departments, and agencies, and even asset verification, the governor has shown himself to be bereft of ideas and vision for the development of the State.”

Obaseki’s aide explained that the probes were a ploy to “treat Edo people like an undiscerning crowd” and that Okpebholo would soon learn that “the Edo people are wise and cannot be fooled.” He urged the governor to focus on governance and improving the lives of the citizens.

“We know what their plans are with these diversionary probes,” Osagie said. “They want to mask the governor’s incompetence and unpreparedness for office, which they obtained through a stolen mandate.”

Obaseki’s administration was praised for its transparency and accountability, with the former governor described as having run “one of the most transparent, accountable, and prudent governments in the history of Nigeria.”

Futhermore, Obaseki’s aide emphasized that the Obaseki administration had achieved an unprecedented level of transparency, laying the foundation for fiscal discipline and accomplishing numerous milestones in various sectors, including the economy, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.

He concluded by stating that “Okpebholo should stop wasting state resources on meaningless probes and focus on governance and improving the lives of Edo people. Edo people are watching, and his short-span government that lasts until the PDP reclaims its mandate will be judged by the impact it delivers.”
