NPFL Reschedules Two Games, Enyimba Coach Speaks On Ikorodu Clash

NUnitiability and Exciting Matches Characterize NPFL Matchday 13

The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) resumed with matchday 13, and the six matches played out of nine, witnessed a dominant performance from Kwara United, as they secured a 1-3 win against Bendel Insurance in their first game under new management.

For the first time this season, no away team was able to secure a win. In fact, three of the six matches ended in a draw, with Kano Pillars and Lobi Stars engaging in a thrilling 2-2 affair that saw both teams surrender three points.

Matchday 13 was not without its unexpected twist, as the planned encounter between Enyimba and Sunshine Stars was postponed due to Enyimba’s CAF Confederation Cup match against Al Masry on November 27.

Here are the results from matchday 13:
Saturday, November 23
– El-Kanemi Warriors 1, Akwa United 0
– Niger Tornadoes 0, Ikorodu City 0
– Bendel Insurance 1, Kwara United 3
– Lobi Stars 2, Kano Pillars 2
– Heartland 0, Enugu Rangers 0

Sunday, November 24
– Katsina United 2, Remo Stars 0
– Plateau United 2, Nasarawa United 0
– Rivers United 1, Abia Warriors 0
– Shooting Stars 1, Bayelsa United 0

The updated table sees Rivers United regain the top spot with 25 points, while Remo Stars trail by just two points. El-Kanemi Warriors and Enyimba share the third and fourth spots, both five points adrift of the leader. In the relegation zone, Nasarawa United, Bendel Insurance, and Akwa United struggle to stay afloat, with Lobi Stars hanging precariously above the red zone.
