‘You Have To Be Incredibly Dense’ – Nollywood Actor, Patrick Doyle Knocks Davido

Nollywood Veteran Slams Davido Over Remarks on Nigeria’s Economy

A recent podcast interview with Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has ruffled feathers among Nigerians. The singer, who is known for his vibrant music, expressed concerns about the increasing trend of black Americans considering relocating to Africa.

During the interview on the “Big Homies House” podcast, Davido shared his skepticism about the trend, citing the challenges facing Nigeria, his home country, and the broader African continent. When asked about black Americans returning to their “motherland,” Davido jokingly said, “Leave America and go where?” and emphasized the economic difficulties and systemic issues affecting African countries.

Has his own experiences shaped his perspective. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Nigeria, Davido shared, “It’s not cool back home… The economy now is in shambles.”

Patrick Doyle, a veteran Nollywood actor, took to his Facebook page to respond to Davido’s statement. He lashed out at the singer, saying he must be “incredibly dense” to advise foreigners against visiting a country where his father has a $2 billion power generation investment.

Doyle’s remark was a stern reprimand, aimed at correcting what he sees as Davido’s ignorance. “You must be incredibly dense to ask foreigners not to visit a country where your father has a $2 Billion Dollar power generation investment. Some individuals should know much better,” he wrote.
