An Azimuth Airlines flight, carrying 87 passengers and four crew members, was forced to make an emergency landing at Antalya Airport in Turkey on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred when the Sukhoi SuperJet 100-95LR’s left engine caught fire shortly after departing from Sochi, Russia. Miraculously, the plane landed safely, and emergency responders were quick to extinguish the flames.

All passengers and crew were evacuated from the aircraft without injury. The landing was made amidst challenging weather conditions, with the plane touching down on runway 36R at 9:30 PM local time. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

In related news, a DHL cargo plane operated by Swiftair crashed in Vilnius, Lithuania, early on Monday, November 25, resulting in a tragic loss of life.

The plane, which was en route from Leipzig, Germany to Vilnius Airport, went down in a residential area of the city at around 5:30 AM local time. Tragically, one of the pilots on board was killed, while the other pilot and two DHL employees suffered injuries.

A fire broke out at the crash site, but emergency services quickly evacuated nearby residents to a safe distance. Fortunately, the plane hit the yard of a nearby house rather than the building itself, preventing further casualties.

The airport was not disrupted, and rescue services, including a fire truck and command team, were quickly dispatched to the scene. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
