Meanwhile, former Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has offered his thoughts on Liverpool’s impressive form this season. After witnessing the Reds extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton, Aguero cautioned against overconfidence.
Aguero emphasized that Liverpool’s current eight-point advantage is insignificant in the long run, citing his own experience with Manchester City in the 2011-2012 season. Despite the Reds’ strong start, Aguero believes it’s premature to make definitive judgments about the title race with so many matches still to play.
Aguero acknowledged that victories over rivals like Liverpool can provide a significant boost, but he believes it’s wise to remain cautious. “Of course, beating Liverpool will certainly help, but it’s not wise to make such sweeping statements when the tournament still has a long way to go,” he said.
