Ghana’s Black Galaxies Coach Names Squad for Nigeria Clash
The Ghana Football Association has announced a 32-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations Championship qualifiers against Nigeria’s Super Eagles. The team will be training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The squad will participate in a three-phase training camp leading up to the match. The first leg is scheduled for December 22, 2024, at Ghana, while the return leg is set for December 28. The winner of the two-legged tie will secure a spot in CHAN 2025, which will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
This match holds significant importance, as Ghana previously prevented Nigeria from qualifying for the 2023 edition of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Nigerian football enthusiast Blessing Nkor has received her first call-up to the Super Falcons team ahead of an international friendly match against France on November 10. The 20-player roster has been officially announced by the Nigeria Football Federation, with Nkor being a promising addition.
Upon receiving the news, Nkor expressed her excitement and gratitude on social media, saying “God did it” and “It’s time to soar higher.” She also extended special thanks to everyone who has supported her along her journey, acknowledging that their encouragement means the world to her.
This milestone marks a significant moment in Nkor’s football career, which has seen her play for Nigeria’s Under-20 women’s team from 2022 to 2023. Her youth national team experience has been a highlight of her journey, showcasing her skills and dedication to the sport.
