“Navigating Backroom Politics: Madaki Accuses Lawmakers of Kicking Him Out to Please Kwankwaso’s Tune”

This Is Highly Unusual – Kwankwaso Slams Police Over Arraignment Of #EndBadGovernance Protesters

Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Ali Madaki, Accuses Rabiu Kwankwaso of Orchestrating His Removal

In a recent interview with Daily Nigerian, Ali Madaki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, revealed that he believes a plot to remove him from his position is being orchestrated by former Kano Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso. He believes this plot is a desperate attempt to assert Kwankwaso’s influence, which he sees as a last-ditch effort by those who consider him the ultimate authority.

A Frustrated and Unfazed Response

Madaki expressed his frustration with the situation, stating that the attempt to remove him by the “sacked national leadership” of the NNPP is a futile effort. He pointed out that the NNPP caucus lacks the authority to remove him and that their actions are a result of the desperation he has witnessed in the past, with some lawmakers dancing to Kwankwaso’s tune.

The Law is on Madaki’s Side

According to Order 7, Rule 14 of the House Standing Order, the majority and minority parties can change their leaders, deputy leaders, and whips, but only if the changes are made by a majority of the members in the House themselves. Madaki disputes the legitimacy of the letter, claiming that the signatories are not members of his party, and that the chairman and NWC members were previously removed by a court judgment, rendering Kwankwaso’s membership invalid. He also points out that some signatories are not even members of the NNPP.

Undeterred by the Brouhaha

Madaki remains unshaken by the drama, seeing it as a straightforward case of propaganda. He is confident that the legitimate leadership of the NNPP, led by Chief Boniface Aniebonam, will address the issue and set the record straight in a press conference.
