Akwa Ibom State Declares Work-Free Day to Honor Late First Lady
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has declared Friday, November 29, 2024, a work-free day to pay tribute to his late wife, Patience Umo Eno.
A statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, revealed that Mrs. Eno’s funeral will take place in Tkot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium local government area.
The work-free day was declared to give the people of the state an opportunity to pay their last respects to the former first lady, who passed away on September 26, 2024, following an illness.
In a statement, the government said, “This work-free day is to enable Akwaibomites and other residents to pay their last respects to our mother at her obsequies in Tkot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on that day.”
The statement also offered condolences to the family and asked for prayers and support during this difficult time.
Mrs. Patience Umo Eno was the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her passing has left a huge void in the lives of those who knew her.
The Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has assured the citizens of the state that despite this personal loss, his commitment to serving the state remains unwavering.
