Today, nine matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) were played across the country, with an interesting twist – not a single away team managed to secure a win. Instead, eight of the matches ended with the home teams emerging victorious.
Rivers United bucked the trend, however, by drawing 1-1 with Sunshine Stars at the Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state.
Ikorodu City maintained their impressive form, securing a 2-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors at Onikan Stadium. This result has propelled them to fifth place on the league table, having accumulated 21 points from 14 matches.
It’s worth noting that the match between Kano Pillars and Enyimba, initially scheduled for today, was postponed due to Enyimba’s continental commitments.
The results of the matches played on November 27 are as follows:
* Enugu Rangers defeated Lobi Stars 3-0
* Abia Warriors won 2-0 against Katsina United
* Sunshine Stars and Rivers United drew 1-1
* Akwa United secured a 1-0 win over Plateau United
* Kwara United won 1-0 against Heartland
* Ikorodu City took all three points with a 2-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors
* Bayelsa United thrashed Niger Tornadoes 4-1
* Nasarawa United won 2-1 against Bendel Insurance
* Remo Stars emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Shooting Stars
After 14 matchdays, the league table sees Remo Stars at the top with 26 points, tied with second-placed Rivers United. Enugu Rangers occupy third place with 23 points, while El-Kanemi Warriors sit fourth with 22 points.
