Umar Sadiq Unhappy At Real Sociedad Over Lack Of Game Time

Umar Sadiq’s Frustration at Real Sociedad

Since joining Real Sociedad from Almeria in the summer of 2022, Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq has been struggling to find his footing at the Spanish La Liga club.

Sadiq made a promising start, scoring a goal on his debut, but his time at the club took a dramatic turn when he suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury during his second appearance. This kept him sidelined for the entire 2022-2023 season.

When he returned to the pitch at the beginning of the next season, his impact was limited. He managed to score just three goals and provide one assist across 26 league appearances, mostly coming off the bench.

This lack of playing time has continued to plague Sadiq, with only six league appearances so far this season.

In a recent interview with Eldesmarque, Sadiq expressed his frustration with his current situation. He emphasized his desire for more consistent playing opportunities, saying that all he needs is continuity to prove himself.

“I’m training well, I’m a professional, and I just need to keep pushing and keep training hard,” he said. “When I have continuity, it will be time to prove it.”
