Falz Spills Secrets of His Secret Life

Falz Opens Up On His Double Lifestyle

Falz Opens Up About His Secret Life as a Lawyer and Rapper

In a recent episode of the Madam Joyce podcast, Nigerian singer Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, shared a surprising revelation about his past – he was once a lawyer by day and a rapper by night.

Falz revealed that balancing his two careers was a significant challenge, as there was a professional rule prohibiting lawyers from engaging in other activities while practicing law.

In his own words, Falz recalled a particular instance where he was in court and had to juggle his dual identities. He said, “I was in court, living a double life at the time. I’d introduce myself as Folarin Falana, appearing for the plaintiff, and the judge would look at me with a hint of skepticism, asking if I wasn’t doing something else on the side.”

Falz also shared that there was an unspoken rule within the legal practice that prohibited lawyers from pursuing other interests.

In a separate interview with Chude Jideonwo, Falz revealed that he wasn’t pressured into becoming a lawyer. Instead, he was inspired by the people his father, Femi Falana, fought for when he was growing up.

Falz explained that he simply wanted to emulate the good deeds of his father and make a positive impact in his own way.
