Rivers State Governor’s 2027 Election Victory a Certainty, Imo Ikenga Ugochinyere Insists

Imo Ikenga Ugochinyere, the House of Representatives member representing Ideato North and South Constituency in Imo State, has emphatically declared that the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalaya Fubara, will emerge victorious in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Akokwa, Ideato North local government area of Imo State, Ugochinyere warned that any attempt to seize Rivers State’s federal allocation would lead to a security crisis in the state.

He cautioned that the plot by 27 Rivers state lawmakers to take control of the state’s House of Assembly is doomed to fail. Ugochinyere noted that the defectors switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC) when the party was not facing a crisis.

According to Ugochinyere, the intention behind the lawmakers’ bid to control the Assembly is to impeach Governor Fubara. “How can anyone guarantee security and payment of salaries to teachers and public servants if Rivers State’s allocation is seized?” Ugochinyere posed.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker also called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, to intervene and ensure justice is served in the matter.
