Hearn slams Fury’s claims, supports Joshua’s bid

Anthony Joshua Open To Fighting Tyson Fury – Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn Leaps to Anthony Joshua’s Defense Against Tyson Fury’s Criticisms

As heavyweight champion Tyson Fury prepares for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, he recently took aim at Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, dismissing them as “limited” fighters due to their performances against top competition. Fury’s remarks specifically targeted Joshua’s inability to defeat Usyk, implying a lack of skills and prowess.

In response, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn fired back, criticizing Fury’s arrogance and pointing out the unexpected loss to Usyk earlier this year, which has raised questions about Fury’s status and reliability in the ring.

Hearn staunchly defended Joshua, emphasizing that boxing is inherently unpredictable and that any fighter can secure a victory against even the most established champions on the right night. He highlighted the subjective nature of evaluating a fighter’s abilities, noting that even the best can fall victim to an upset.

“It’s all about perspective,” Hearn said. “Fury himself has been knocked down and beaten by Usyk. To say Joshua can’t do it is a bit rich.”

Hearn expressed confidence in Joshua’s capabilities, asserting that he has the talent to defeat any opponent, including Fury, on any given night. Joshua is currently focused on bouncing back from a recent loss and is expected to return to the ring in May or June.

While a rematch against Daniel Dubois remains a possibility, Hearn also hinted at the long-discussed dream fight between Joshua and Fury, noting that it is still a feasible option for the future. For now, Joshua will focus on getting back in the ring and exploring his options.

“AJ is still looking for big fights, and we’ll see where it goes,” Hearn said. “But there’s no rush for Joshua; we’ll get him back in the ring and go from there.”
