Two Officers Sacked by Lagos State Task Force over Alleged Phone Theft

An investigation led to the termination of two officers from the Lagos State Task Force after they were caught on camera stealing phones during a recent raid in the Gowon area of Lagos.

The incident occurred during a raid in a notorious hotel known for housing drug users and traffickers, resulting in numerous arrests. However, the integrity of the operation was compromised when two officials were caught on CCTV stealing mobile phones from the scene of the raid.

According to a statement from the Task Force, Fatai Yusuf (42) and Hammed Garuba (38) were found guilty of the crime after a thorough investigation by the Disciplinary Committee. The two officers, who were part of the paramilitary force within the agency, were immediately fired and will face criminal prosecution for theft.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, strongly condemned the officers’ actions, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to integrity and accountability. He issued a stern warning to all personnel, emphasizing that any breach of ethical conduct would be met with severe consequences.
