Bayern Munich have confirmed that England international Harry Kane will be out of action for the foreseeable future after suffering a minor hamstring strain during Saturday’s draw with Borussia Dortmund.
Kane was substituted in the 33rd minute, with his team trailing, but Jamal Musiala’s late goal salvaged a point for Bayern.
The match initially swung in favor of Dortmund, with Jamie Gittens scoring a powerful goal following a dazzling run down the left wing.
However, Bayern’s fortunes took a turn for the worse when Kane, their star striker and top scorer, suffered an injury, sparking concerns among fans and the team.
Manager Vincent Kompany responded swiftly, substituting Kane to prevent further damage.
According to Bayern’s official statement, Kane suffered a small muscle fibre tear in his right thigh during the match against Borussia Dortmund. After a thorough examination by the medical department, it was determined that Kane would be sidelined for the time being.
No specific timeline has been provided for his recovery, leaving it unclear whether he will miss any key league matches in the coming weeks. There is speculation that he could potentially sit out the DFB-Pokal clash scheduled for Tuesday night.
Despite the setback, Kane remains optimistic about a swift return to action. On social media, he commented, “Just a minor muscle strain, so I’ll take some time to recover now. Great header by Jamal yesterday to get a good point. Thanks for all the messages.”
In Kane’s absence, Bayern managed to equalize with a late goal from Jamal Musiala, who scored a well-timed header inside the box without any marking from the Dortmund defense, securing a point for Bayern.
This season, Kane has impressively netted 20 goals across 19 appearances for Bayern, highlighting his crucial role in the squad.
In addition to his goals, Kane has provided seven assists, significantly contributing to his team’s attacking prowess. His overall haul of 21 goal contributions in league play makes him the top contributor among all players in Europe’s top five leagues.
