Former President Goodluck Jonathan Offers Words of Wisdom to Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara
Despite the intense political challenges facing Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged him to remain steadfast and focused on his duties. The former President believes that Fubara’s current trials will ultimately shape him into a seasoned politician.
Jonathan’s words of encouragement came amid the ongoing political standoff between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
At a chieftaincy installation ceremony in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Jonathan called on Fubara to stay committed to the people of Rivers and not let the challenges get the better of him. He reminded the Governor that even the most seasoned politicians face setbacks, but it’s how they respond that matters.
Jonathan’s message of hope was underscored by his own experiences as President, where he faced his own share of challenges. He emphasized that Fubara’s commitment to his people and his state is crucial in overcoming the hurdles he is currently facing.
The former President also appealed for peace in Rivers State, noting that the state’s strategic location in the Niger Delta region makes it a linchpin for the entire country’s economy. He urged stakeholders to work towards maintaining a peaceful environment, allowing Fubara to focus on the development of the state and its people.
In response, Fubara expressed his gratitude to Jonathan for his support and promised to continue working towards the betterment of the people. He acknowledged Jonathan’s unwavering backing during difficult times, praising him for standing by his administration.
Governor Fubara reiterated his commitment to following the right path and reaching his goals, while thanking Jonathan for his unwavering support.
