Edo APC Crises: Obaseki’s Aide Labels Oshiomhole as “Pathological Liar”

‘Oshiomhole May Never Heal From Pathological Lying’ – Says Obaseki’s Aide, Osagie

Crusoe Osagie, the media adviser to former Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, has taken a swipe at All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Adams Oshiomhole, describing him as an individual plagued by persistent deceit.

In a recent statement, Osagie expressed concern that Oshiomhole’s propensity for double-speak and distorting the truth might suggest that he is struggling with a psychological disorder.

Osagie explained that mythomania, a condition characterized by compulsive and pathological lying, is marked by impulsive deceit across various aspects of life. He lamented that Oshiomhole’s inability to recall his previous falsehoods only exacerbates the issue.

The senior special assistant to the ex-governor observed that Oshiomhole, at 75 years old, has shown no inclination to correct his behavior. Instead, he seems locked into a pattern of easy lying, which may follow him for the rest of his life.

The statement noted that while Oshiomhole campaigns for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, he previously described Ize-Iyamu as a cultist who wields an AK-47. However, in an about-face, Oshiomhole later referred to Ize-Iyamu as the messiah sent by God to rescue Edo State.

Osagie also pointed out that when Oshiomhole celebrated Obaseki’s efforts during his own administration, he acknowledged that Obaseki’s selflessness drove the success of his presidency. However, this changed when Oshiomhole began making contradictory claims on the Bush Radio Academy podcast.

Oshiomhole began claiming that the new governor select had achieved numerous projects during his short tenure, including the commissioning of a boutique, flagging off an already constructed Temboga Road, purchasing bulletproof SUVs for the Edo APC chairman, and abolishing an e-government system. The statement questioned the authenticity of these claims, as such projects would not be reasonably achievable in just two weeks.

Acknowledging Obaseki’s achievements as an exemplary governor, Osagie emphasized that Obaseki’s transformative leadership raised the bar for governance nationwide. He urged the public to disregard Oshiomhole’s lies and dismiss him as a credible voice.

Finding it impossible to engage with Oshiomhole’s false narratives, the statement concluded that no genuine individual can take him seriously, as he clearly struggles with mythomania and is driven by selfish motivations.
