Lagos Government Clamps Down on Noise Polluters, Seals Off Red-Letter Condemned Locations

The Lagos State Government has taken a decisive step to curb noise pollution and other environmental violations, sealing off several business facilities and places of worship. This move is aimed at creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for all Lagosians.

Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, revealed that properties like Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, and several others were shut down by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) following repeated warnings and failures to comply with environmental standards.

According to him, the agencies’ operation covered areas like Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, demonstrating LASEPA’s commitment to its goal of protecting the environment and the well-being of Lagosians.

The properties sealed off include Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Center & SPA, FS Service Centre, and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.

The properties were shut down for failing to comply with environmental standards despite previous notices from the agency, ensuring public health and safety are not compromised.

Tokunbo emphasized that this operation reflects LASEPA’s unwavering dedication to enforcing environmental laws and preserving the well-being of Lagos residents.

The agency assures the public that it will continue to work towards creating a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable Lagos for all.
