Comedian Seyi Law Under Fire for Social Media Post on Borno State Governor
Naijawebinfo has reported that Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, recently featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today, discussing the proposed tax reform bill.
Zulum stunned many by claiming that if the bill is passed, only Lagos and Rivers state will benefit.
Not one to shy away from controversy, Seyi Law, a Special Assistant on Entertainment & Tourism to the Ondo State governor, took to social media to express his disapproval of Zulum’s stance. “If you want to hold the South-West to ransom over a tax bill? This is absurd. It’s like the elites are using their degrees to defend their personal interests,” he said.
A user on the platform quickly responded, “If you’re booted from your current role and relegated to making dry, unimaginative jokes, like cracking poorly timed ones about Seyi Tinubu, you’d call your governor cruel, just like how you’re his mouthpiece.”
Seyi Law hit back at the user, saying, “Your IQ is as impressive as Ekenedilichukwu, but your brain is practically non-existent.”
The exchange quickly drew in other users, who couldn’t help but poke fun at Seyi’s comedy career.
@papi_wild quipped, “You’re using Ekenedilichukwu to take cheap shots? Try again, pole-star.”
@StillBuggie chimed in, “He’s spot on. As a Special Assistant, you can’t be so lowbrow about another governor, especially one from the same party. I guess that’s what you get for living off making jokes, devoid of any real intellect.”
@3nitylord jokingly remarked, “No lie, people say you make harmattan-hot, overhyped jokes. Thank God for the SSA hustle.”
@jama_verse asked, “What does that even mean? Are you so clueless, just like this supposed NGO?
@iamMista_jay lamented, “This is how one of Nigeria’s most celebrated comedians ended up as an online troll, instead of using his creativity to make a positive impact. Do you not think any of the people you insult might change their minds about buying your expensive tickets?”
@ImohLeonard noted, “You don’t know who the late Ekenedilichukwu was? Let me remind you that, in his lifetime, you wouldn’t dare look at him, let alone mention his name, now that he’s gone.
@Micheal54262505 concluded, “You must be working on tribalist matters for your boss, forgetting that he’s a governor and member of the APC, and you’re his colleague’s associate?”
