Man Arrested for Raping Neighbour in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command has taken a man, identified as Michael Akinmolayan, into custody for allegedly raping a female neighbour in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State. The victim’s brother, Ogundimu, who resides in Mushin, Lagos State, reported the crime to the authorities.

The police swiftly responded to the scene and apprehended Akinmolayan, who allegedly inflicted severe head injuries on the survivor using a grinding stone. The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

According to reports, the incident occurred on November 28, and investigators recovered evidence, including blood-stained clothing and the grinding stone allegedly used in the attack. A preliminary investigation is underway to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Four Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Abuja

In a separate incident, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, led by Commissioner Olatunji Rilwan Disu, arrested four suspected armed robbers during a raid at the Dei-Dei timber shed in Abuja.

The operatives were acting on reliable intelligence, which led them to the Dei-Dei ‘B’ Division, where they apprehended the suspects, identified as Nura Halilu, Salim Mohammed, Saifullahi Usman, and Usman Mohammed.

The police seized firearms and counterfeit currency from the suspects, who had allegedly been using the hideout to engage in a range of illegal activities, including drug trafficking, stolen mobile phones, and other illicit trades. Investigators believe that the hideout was linked to the gang’s leader, who remains at large.
