FBI Arrests Colorado Springs Mayor, Yemi Mobolade For Allegedly Staging Racist Attack Against Himself

FBI Arrests Colorado Springs Mayor for Plotting Racist Hoax to Gain Election Sympathy

It has been revealed that the FBI arrested Yemi Mobolade, the Mayor of Colorado Springs, for allegedly orchestrating a racist propaganda stunt to gain sympathy with voters ahead of a mayoral election. It’s alleged that Mobolade, an African immigrant and left-wing candidate, was involved in a hate crime hoax to bolster his campaign by portraying himself as a victim of discrimination.

Three of Mobolade’s loyalists, Derrick Bernard Jr., Ashley Blackcloud, and Deanna West, were charged with defacing one of his campaign signs by scrawling a racial slur and erecting a burning cross in front of it. The accused sent videos of the staged spectacle to the media to galvanize Black voter support for Mobolade’s mayoral candidacy.

The conspirators aimed to create a manipulated narrative to gain sympathy and backing for Mobolade’s campaign, particularly among African American voters, in his mayoral runoff election against Republican Wayne Williams. The strategy was part of an effort to overcome Mobolade’s perceived disadvantage as a minority candidate in a predominantly conservative city.

As a result, the FBI launched an investigation, and Mobolade was subsequently referred for prosecution for making false statements related to a hate crime hoax, allegedly intended to boost his political prospects.

Mobolade, who gained protagonism with his election win, has been scrutinized for his role in the scandal. Investigators obtained communication records indicating that Mobolade was in frequent contact with the lead suspect, Bernard, prior to, during, and after the staged incident.

In his interviews, Mobolade repeatedly denied knowing the suspect, but his testimony was contradicted by evidence of his conversations with Bernard. Officials noted that Mobolade scrolled through his phone as a memory aid, inadvertently revealing he was aware of the text messages.

A candid statement from a justice official reportedly revealed, “If anyone else had been in that position, they would have been charged with lying to a federal agent. The initial response from the Department of Justice was, ‘We can’t indict the first Black mayor of Colorado Springs.'” This stark appraisal highlights the double standard potentially applied in this high-profile case.
