Viktor Boniface Future in Leverkusen: Report
Bayer Leverkusen are moving swiftly to keep Super Eagles star Viktor Boniface on board, according to sources. The striker’s current contract is up in 2028, but Leverkusen aim to extend it until 2029, complete with a significant pay hike that would elevate him to a top-tier earner within the club.
This development comes after reports surfaced of Manchester United’s interest in the striker. With 29 goals and 10 assists to his name in 49 appearances since joining from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023, it’s easy to see why clubs are clamoring for his signature.
Last season, Boniface played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double, which they followed up with the German Super Cup title in the new season. The 25-year-old kicked off his Leverkusen journey in style, snatching the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award.
Despite facing a short-term setback after suffering a thigh injury, Boniface has made his intentions clear: he’ll consider leaving Leverkusen for La Liga if circumstances permit.
According to transfer specialist Patrick Berger, while British clubs remain keen on acquiring Boniface, the talented striker is content in his current setup and envisions his near-future firmly rooted in the Rhineland region.
