Ogun State: Armed Assailants Take Life of Hotel Guest

Gunmen Kill Lodger In Ogun Hotel

A man identified as Gideon Ebukwe met a tragic end at the Ok Winners Hotel in Igbosoro, within the Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State.

A statement released by the Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, detailing that Ebukwe was fatally shot by unidentified attackers who had invaded the hotel where he was staying.

According to the police, the assailants, who arrived at the hotel around 3:30 pm, stormed Ebukwe’s room, prompting him to attempt to flee through the ceiling. Unfortunately, he was tracked down and shot dead, and his possessions were stolen.

The Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Atobatele Igbosoro, reported the incident to the police. According to his account, a group of five armed men attacked Ebukwe, who was a guest at the hotel. At the time of the attack, the hotel staff were locked in another room.

Ebukwe’s desperate bid to escape through the ceiling ultimately proved futile, as the attackers caught up with him and took his belongings.

Policemen led by the divisional police officer rushed to the scene and began an investigation. Although no arrests have been made, the body was taken to the Jas Medical Mortuary in Ogijo for further examination.

The police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the motives behind the attack, which may be linked to cult activities. The case will be forwarded to the Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and action.
