Rebuilding Trust: My Journey to Forgiveness

I Will Never Respect Police – Skales

Nigerian Rapper Skales Voices Frustration with Nigeria Police Force

Singer-songwriter Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, recently shared a disturbing encounter with Nigerian policemen that has left him doubting the integrity of the force.

According to Skales, who narrated his ordeal on social media, he and his team were delayed by some policemen while driving to an interview at City FM due to their refusal to grant bribes.

The erratic behavior of the police, he alleged, is a norm, with public officials often extorting money while ignoring their duties.

Skales, visibly upset, described the encounter in a social media post: “The Nigerian Police caught us on Tuesday, just under the bridge near Magodo, on our way to City FM, and they just opened fire, treating us like we were criminals. They were asking for money for Christmas, but I refused to comply, and they threatened to detain us, claiming that we would be searched and delayed. I just laughed and told them I wouldn’t compromise and risk a public embarrassment.”

Skales also shared the police’s response to finding a large sum of cash on him, stating, “They searched us, saying, ‘So you have money, you refuse to give us, we’ll show you our power.’ But I just laughed, telling them the thought of public embarrassment was too much for me to handle.”

He concluded his account, expressing his disdain for the Nigerian Police Force, saying, “I have no respect for these people. They’re a joke, and I don’t plan to ever put myself in their hands again.”
